Back 20mph speed limits for safer streets

The faster people drive, the greater the risk of accidents, and the more off-putting it is for people to walk and cycle.

There is a change in the law being considered in Parliament right now that would change the default speed limit in all built up areas across Scotland from 30mph to 20mph. Slower speeds are safer and less polluting.  But this crucial improvement is at risk.

The Scottish Government will soon decide whether to support this new law or not, and it’s hanging in the balance. You can help. We need to let the First Minister know there is huge support for safer streets and reduced speeds.

Can you take a minute to send a quick message to Nicola Sturgeon? If you can, personalise your email to describe how speeding traffic has affected you personally, and your area.
