Help expose the true climate pollution from Peterhead gas project

New research has just revealed the new Peterhead gas power station could be 5 times worse for the climate than originally feared.

The proposals to build a new station to burn fossil gas could create 1 million tonnes more climate pollution each year than the energy companies have admitted.

The developers left huge holes in their analysis as part of their planning application – deliberately leaving out the pollution from extracting and transporting the fossil gas from around the world to be burned in Aberdeenshire.

The energy giants are making totally unevidenced claims how much carbon would be captured at this project.

We need to make sure Government Ministers know about these new pollution figures.  These companies must be sent back to the drawing board to get the full picture of the climate harm this whole project will cause.

Email your MSPs now to demand Ministers force these companies to produce an honest assessment of its climate pollution.

When the Scottish Government sees the true climate harm of this project, the only rational response will be to reject it entirely and focus instead on rapidly building up Scotland’s renewable energy future.
