OnlineJoin us to hear from a communications advisor, specialising in framing and narrative. We will look at how we talk convincingly to people about climate solutions amidst rising anti “net zero” narratives and climate denial.
We’ll learn practical skills, use real world examples and gain a better understanding of how we need respond in world of feelings of helplessness, disinformation and purposely misdirected anger.
Loud, divisive and very well-funded voices in the media and online are creating opposition to climate solutions like renewable energy, attempting to narrow the space for progressive campaigning.
Billionaires and big business are profiteering at our expense, while actively scapegoating the most marginalised people in our communities. The upcoming election gives the forces of big business an opportunity to fan these flames and further divide people.
Ralph Underhill of Framing Matters has produced a toolkit of how we can make the case for positive climate solutions in this pivotal moment. Join us for a workshop webinar where he explains his work and shows you how to put into practice in your own lives, conversations and campaigns.
Whatever the outcome of the election, the conversations around the issues that we care about will continue to change. We all have a role in shaping that narrative, talking to people in a way that resonates with their lives and be skilled up to build a people-powered movement for positive change.
This will build on January’s National Meeting where we discussed how to have “difficult conversations”, but attendance at that meeting is not required to come to this!
