Tell the Scottish Government to make big businesses act responsibly
Today, the way resources are used is wasteful and damaging. People and nature are being exploited by powerful corporations that only care about profit.
But a better future is possible, and you can help put pressure on the Scottish Government to deliver it.
Changing our system to enable fairer resource use would mean products like laptops, washing machines and clothes would last longer, saving people money. It would mean less rubbish, and companies would have to pay for the cleanup of the products they sell.
The Scottish Government has created a plan to change the way we use materials. This ‘circular economy strategy’ could vastly improve how materials are used for good, but the draft version isn’t strong enough yet. The strategy should include:
- a commitment to using less materials
- plans to make big businesses act responsibly, and
- policies to tackle plastic pollution.
Take action and call on the Scottish Government to put people and nature first in its circular economy strategy.
