Kate WhitakerAfter nearly three years of genocide in Gaza, this meeting will focus on the environmental impact of these attacks on Palestine and what that means for intertwined communities and ecosystems.
The meeting will hear about the findings of new research based on samples collected on the ground in the midst of the bombardment of Gaza. This evidence aims to add to the growing calls for Israel’s actions to be recognised also as ecocide.
We will be joined by Dr. Manal Shqair who will explain how this research fits within a long history of environmental harm and settler colonialism in Palestine.
Finnian Murtagh from Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland will share how we can use this to advance calls on the UK Government to take stronger action in support of Palestine, such as implementing a full arms embargo.
